2017 Halloween on the Hill Recap

The 8th Halloween on the Hill was a great success and topped all previous years. First, a huge thank you to all the neighbors and volunteers who participated. This event could not happen without many people generously contributing time and resources. Thank you to Hope Church on Ingersoll for providing volunteers to collect items and Hoyt Sherman Place for hosting the drop-off point. We also received media coverage from Channel 13 NBC and Channel 5 ABC.

Community Impact

  • We collected over 6 barrels of items for the pantry in the first HOUR. According to DMARC, the event collected:
  • 1,572 food items (increase of over 500 items)
  • 297 personal care items (increase of 277 items)
  • $140.66 in cash (increase $86)

For the first time, Beacon of Life participated by selling cider (sold out!) and popcorn balls. Money was raised to support their important mission and they are excited to participate next year.

Last, but certainly not least, individual THANK YOUS to those that decorated, danced, spooked, especially: Judith Hainut, Jim & Angela Romain, Brandy & John Clogg, Lyn Loheed, Sharon Bird, Michelle & Rob McCammon, Kristin & Ed Brafford, Jeremy Phillips & Deb Copeland, Lyn Sprafka, Rhanda LeJuene, Rick & Cindy Nelson, David Schlarmann, Rochelle & Doug Burnett, the Thriller Dancers, Jay & Christine Polson, John & Shayla McCormally, Gretchen Jensen & Brian Hulten, Matt & Christina Cross, Lauren Hackman & Edwin Mendez, Emily & Jim Peterson, and several others on 20th Street.
